2009, January 27: Jim Foster Selected as New Chief of Facility Management
Glacier National Park Superintendent Chas Cartwright today announced that Jim Foster has been selected as the new Chief of Facility Management... As the manager for Glacier’s parkwide maintenance operation, Foster’s duties include oversight of all facility and infrastructure operations throughout the park including road operations and maintenance, building construction, building repair and rehabilitation, campground operations, budget oversight and management, fleet oversight, utility operations and maintenance, solid waste and recycling management and personnel management. 2008, November 17: Lake McDonald Lodge Coffee Shop Listed in National Register
Designed and constructed in 1965, the Lake McDonald Lodge Coffee Shop, is the most recent building in Glacier National Park to be listed in the National Register of Historic Places as an exceptional example of the National Park Service (NPS) Mission 66 planning and development program. Park officials announced today that the coffee shop was added to the National Register on October 16. (more...)

2008, March 25: Chas Cartwright Named Superintendent of Glacier National Park
Chas Cartwright, a 21-year veteran of the National Park Service (NPS) has been named superintendent of Glacier National Park in Montana, according to Intermountain Regional Director Mike Snyder. Cartwright will assume his new position in late May. He will replace Mick Holm, who served as superintendent for six years before retiring from the NPS...(more...)
